Educating America: Crusade Against Progressive Marxism - by Keith Allen Lehman

I have written in the past concerning the infiltration of progressive liberal-Marxism invading our educational system with the help of the central government usurping states’ rights. Instead of looking at the root of the problems of the nationalized educational system, the members of the US Congress and recent presidents have just funneled more tax dollars in the system. No Child Left Behind was a flop when it was conceived and can readily be seen that it hasn’t worked. Politicians need to stop experimenting on society. It just has wasted taxpayer dollars and undermined the education of our youth, their future and the future of America.  Americans can no longer tolerate government elected officials thinking that problems are solved just by increasing funding via taxpayers of America.

I personally believe there is no place in the federal government for a Department of Education. It is not in the Constitution. There is no mention anywhere in the Constitution that the federal government has any role in education. I believe that the federal government doesn’t have a role in education. I have several members of my family, including my wife, who are teachers, who are not at all happy with the so called No Child Left Behind bill, which I think has gone far astray from what it was even intended to do. And I would like to hope that at some point we could get the federal government out of the business of education altogether, and acknowledge that this is policy that should be decided at the state level. John Shadegg

Enter, stage right, Dr. Mary Grabar, an intellectual professor who earned at the University of Georgia her Ph.D. in English, an accomplished poet and published fiction writer, as well as an instructor at Emory University and Georgia Perimeter College. When she writes that she is:

She means it.

Her website, The Literate Citizen demonstrates her advocacy, as well as the incorporated blog. She has spoken publicly in Washington,DC and other places concerning communism in our educational system. Her writing has appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, American Thinker, Big Government, Townhall.com, Pajamas Media, The American Spectator, The Weekly Standard and other prestigious websites, media and forums. One wonders when she finds the time to sleep.

Mary Grabar knows the ugly head of Marxism. When she was two years old her parents escaped from Soviet occupied Slovenia in 1959, spending a year in a refugee camp in Austria. Finally the family made it to Rochester, New York where Mary grew up. She writes on her About page:

My views have been formed by experiences as an immigrant during the racial violence in Rochester in the 1960s and then at my alma mater, Benjamin Franklin Junior-Senior High School. I tried to be a liberal, but then quickly realized that it was an exclusive club. My conversion to conservatism was clinched when I returned to school in the master’s program in English in the 1990’s. In spite of the hostility of most of the faculty and the torture of having to wade through postmodern nonsense, I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2002.

I was fortunate to have met her through her cyberspace postings around the time I established a website in 1999, one year before the founding of the Lighthouse Journal, later renamed Lighthouse Patriot Journal. Mary Grabar continues to impress me.

Mary Grabar’s most prestigious endeavor is educating our youth and instilling the Jeffersonian principles back into the educational system and our government. Teachers are important in every nation.

In a recent article at Pajamas Media, Mary Grabar writes about how the 2010 Census is used as a tool to ignore the real and present danger of illegal aliens, entitled Census Bureau to Kids: Tell Your Parents we Won’t Tell INS …

While illegal immigrants send families back to Mexico as the heralded stimulus fails to stimulate the economy, and while tea party participants make their voices heard through elections of Republicans, fat and happy government workers continue in their missions of padding electoral rolls for Democrats. Among these are Census Bureau officials, who are scheduled to spend $133 million between January and May to get people to fill out their forms arriving in March. … The Census Bureau offers school principals with curriculum materials in social studies and math. But principals are also enjoined to “use social studies, English language arts, math, and mapping skills to educate students about the census.” The Census Bureau openly states that its curriculum “seeks to enlist students as advocates for participation in the 2010 census, in their homes and communities, especially in communities that might otherwise be undercounted or overlooked and, as a result may lose out on a wide range of benefits” (emphases retained). Read: federal aid, especially for illegal immigrants. … But what the flagging economy can’t do, the Census Bureau seems to be trying to do: to make illegal aliens feel welcome and comfortable enough to report their numbers. They’re using children to reach parents, particularly those who don’t speak English and whose legal status is questionable. That legal status is not a concern of the Census Bureau, as evidenced also by their video of a boot maker who says in Spanish that he came here to work. How did he get here? Does he have a green card? Those questions are not addressed. … All this suggests that many things are going on behind school doors with government officials that they don’t want you to know. The American public already knows that Democrats work behind closed doors after promising in the Obama Nation campaign that government will be more transparent. It is time to remove the liars and cheats from our government – whatever political party club they belong to.

Marxist and Maoists were introduced to America’s college and university campuses in the 1960s and escalated during the 1970s – sponsoring the anti-war movement and the marked change from liberalism to progressive Marxism, the students eagerly protesting against the Establishment which incorporated our government. The Bill Ayers, a terrorist from the era, became a professor in Chicago and others became part of the establishment they protested in their youth. Union members and youth from the population that was steered toward Marxists like Saul Alinsky, community organizers, and members of the Black community became Democratic Party members aided by moguls and the elite wealthy like George Soros and Nancy Pelosi; radical political parasites like Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, Al Gore and Maxine Waters; and political powers like Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham-Clinton, and corrupt organizations like the Labor Unions (and Trade Unions) and the infamous Chicago Political Machine, as well as New York.

The Democrats programmed the E-Verify system that is supposed to help curb illegal immigration, but has failed. A major portion of the Obama healthcare scheme will benefit illegal aliens who remain and work in the United States illegally.

Mary Grabar and her parents represent the immigrants who suffered and toiled to come to America, and did so by the rules of immigration. Mary is an example of how legal immigration makes America better. For one reason legal immigrants, unlike illegal aliens, undergo background and medical checks and represent a people who appreciate and understand the benefits of not just living and working in America, but respecting its traditions, learning its history and the type of government created in the late 1800s that made America unique and a great nation to emulate in respect to a republic whose foundation is the Constitution of the United States.

Mary Grabar is a citizen that understands the pitfalls of progressive movement and works diligently to protect the Jeffersonian principles that created a republic for which it stands. It is especially important that the 12+ million uninvited people be sent back from whence they came in an era of economic woes, partly caused by the government not enforcing its own immigration laws. Amnesty was tried in 1986 and not only did it not work, it encouraged more aliens to filter across our southern border knowing they too would eventually receive amnesty if they could hold out long enough. Reputable organizations have proven that illegal aliens are a danger to national security, social health (crime, for example), and the unity of America.

Our government, the Obama Nation, claims it wants to tackle the deficit. If so, then the first place to correct the situation would be the immigration issue. The American taxpayer no longer wants to foot the bill for uninvited people who believe that America’s sovereignty means nothing, that American real estate belongs to Mexico (some claiming the whole of North America), and that the system of government, American traditions, must all fall into the annals of history for the benefit of themselves. One can look at the history of their original nation to see how well it has done during the course of time from 1776.

To Adolf Hitler, education was limited to his ideology that was written in Mein Kampf and his Hitler’s Youth established a generation of brainwashed people.

Joseph Stalin’s view on education was revealed when he stated:

Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.

And his views on ideas:

Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas.

It is the same reason the Nazi of the 1930s-1940s burned books.

Permeating the education institution and controlling it is only part of tyranny’s plan, the media must fall inline as well, as Joseph Stalin wrote:

Print is the sharpest and the strongest weapon of our party.

Thus is the legacy of the Democratic Party, its ideology corrupted since the 1930s, their new generation are called Progressives.

We can see how Marxism has infiltrated European governments, as well as the results. The Europeans are causing the invasion of an enemy of free nations to succeed, which it couldn’t do during the historical period called the Crusades.

Marxism and fanaticism is a real and present danger for any free nation or nation that desires to be a free republic, and must be addressed as such. The enemies have revealed themselves, so what are you going to do about it?
