Federal Government Versus State Government

New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, demonstrated his moronic ideology by stating that America is giving short shrift to immigration and blaming economic problems upon the fact that the welcome mat is not place on the US southern border under an open border concept; mixing as progressives do on issues between legal immigrants to illegal aliens. The progressive mayor stated that the United States is pushing people that other countries want away from our shores. [I]
One day after President Obama urged Congress to pass an immigration reform bill, Bloomberg stated that policymakers should give a green card to anybody around the world who wants to come here … and … a way must be found to give citizenship to the roughly 11 million people who are in the United States.

It is this train of thought that has come full circle when it comes to immigration issues; and most fail to mention that other nations, like Mexico, have more strict immigration laws than the United States government and its government, the President of Mexico, is telling our nation and its people how to run their country. We can all tell how well Mexico’s form of government is doing, can’t we?
The immigration problem has nothing to do with legal immigration to the United States, but illegal immigration of a people who seem to think it is their right to break our nation’s laws for whatever reason they can conjure. One of the arguments presented by the underground Mexican revolutionary organizations is that, as demonstrators signs have made clear, that the North American continent belongs to them and that the Border States were stolen from Mexico. Other arguments are that they have the right to a better life. If their life is so horrible why don’t they address their own nation’s government instead of jeopardizing the United States America and its people under the concept of an open and porous border?
As Steven A. Camarota, Center for Immigration Studies wrote in April of 2010:
The new law recently signed by the governor of Arizona, SB 1070, makes it a crime to violate some federal immigration statutes.
In other words, Arizona is enforcing what the federal government either refuses to enforce or rarely enforces. The law is extremely popular with the folks in the state with 70% of Arizona’s voters approving it and only 23% opposed. One wonders how many of that 23% are illegal aliens with false or stolen identification that allows them to vote as naturalized citizens.
The following is a brief summary of the law’s provisions:

The federal government estimated that Arizona had one of the fastest growing illegal immigrant populations in the country, increasing from 330.000 in 2000 to 560,000 by 2008. [II]
Arizona has adopted other laws to deter the settlement of illegal immigrants in the state in recent years. The federal government estimates that the illegal immigrant population dropped by 18 percent in the state from 2008 to 2009, compared to a 7 percent drop for the nation as a whole. [III]
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has found that 22 percent of felonies in the county are committed by illegal immigrants. [IV] Illegal immigrants are estimated to be 10 percent of the county’s adult population. [V]
Analysis of data from State Criminal Alien Assistance Program showed that illegal immigrants were 11 percent of the state’s prison population. Illegal immigrants were estimated to be 8 percent of state’s adult population at the time of the analysis. [VI]
Approximately 17 percent of those arrested by the Border Patrol in its Tucson Sector have criminal records in the United States. [VII]
In 2007, the Center for Immigration Studies estimated that 12 percent of workers in Arizona are illegal immigrants. [VIII]
In 2007, the Center estimated that one-third of households headed by illegal immigrants in Arizona used at least one major welfare program, primarily food-assistance programs or Medicaid. Benefits were typically on behalf of U.S.-born children. [IX]
The new law (SB 1070) is extremely popular among Arizona voters. A Rasmussen poll found that 70 percent of voters approve of the new bill and just 23 percent oppose it. [X]

The federal government is not submitting or has ever submitted a lawsuit against the states and the US cities called sanctuary cities and states; where state governments ignore and bypass federal immigration laws. [XI]
America will never be destroyed from outside. If we falter and lose freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. Abraham Lincoln
