CDC Track Record: Does Not Match Its Expense nor Reality

The problem with a government that is not limited, as the Founders realized after studying the history of government and the governed, history of civilization itself, is that bureaucracy grows with a government not limited, and so does its cost, its corruption, and its ineptitude.Thus you end up with people who consider them the elite of society that are clueless, like Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden and dangerous leadership like Harry Reid and John McCain.

We can see this with the so-called Homeland Security, IRS, and the CDC. The over-budget government's solution to issues and problems is wanting more funding, and that is the cancerous atmosphere from both sides of the political aisle in Washington DC.

In the case of the CDC, they are no different than any federally controlled agency or department. They squander funds allocated on things that do not concern their reason for existence, their “core mission” as Michele Malkin puts it. …

At $7 billion, the Centers for Disease Control 2014 budget is nearly 200 percent bigger now than it was in 2000. Those evil, stingy Republicans actually approved CDC funding increases in January larger than what President Obama requested. What are we getting for this ever-increasing amount of money? Answer: A power-hungry busybody brigade of politicized blame-mongers.

In a previous article, I mentioned the ridiculous waste that government agencies and departments perform with your hard-earned tax dollar that is forced out of your paychecks – with no accountability because it is rare that Congress actually passes a budget, prescribed by the US Constitution.

...like these recent crusades performed by CDC (Centers for Disease Control):

--Mandatory motorcycle helmet laws. CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden appoints a 15-member "Community Preventive Services Task Force" to promote pet Nanny State projects. An obscure Obamacare rule -- Section 4003(b)(1) -- stealthily increased the task force's authority to study "any policies, programs, processes or activities designed to affect or otherwise affecting health at the population level." Last year, the meddling panel extended the agency's reach into transportation safety with a call to impose a federal universal motorcycle helmet law on the country. Is riding a Harley a disease? Why is this the CDC's business?
--Video games and TV violence. At Obama's behest, in the wake of high-profile school shootings, the CDC scored $10 million last year to study violent video games and media images, as well as to assess "existing strategies for preventing gun violence and identifying the most pressing research questions, with the greatest potential public health impact." Whatever that means. Why is this the CDC's business?
--Playground equipment. The CDC's "Injury Centers" (Did you know there are 13 of them?) have crafted a "national action plan" and funded countless studies to prevent boo-boos and accidents on the nation's playgrounds. Apparently, there aren't enough teachers, parents, local school districts, and county and state regulators to police the slides and seesaws. Why is this the CDC's business?
--"Social norming" in the schools. The CDC has funded studies and campaigns "promoting positive community norms" and "safe, stable, nurturing relationships (SSNRs)" in homes and schools. It's the mother of all government values clarifications programs. So bad attitudes are now a disease. Again, I ask: Why is this the CDC's business?

...Here's a reminder of what the CDC does with money that's supposed to go to real disease control. In 2000, the agency essentially lied to Congress about how it spent up to $7.5 million earmarked each year since 1993 for research on the deadly hantavirus. "Instead, apparently without asking Congress, the CDC spent much of the money on other programs that the agency thought needed the funds more," The Washington Post found. The diversions were impossible to trace because of shoddy CDC bookkeeping practices. The CDC also misspent $22.7 million appropriated for chronic fatigue syndrome and was investigated in 2001 for squandering $13 million on hepatitis C research.

In addition to taxpayer dollars, CDC has a group in Atlanta [CDC Foundation] that comprise some pretty impressive corporations that provide baskets of money – ATT, Costco, General Motors (the one who got the bailout and screwed over its employee's 401k), Google, IBM, and Microsoft. The organization has, to this date, raised $400 million given to CDC.

One of the major problems with CDC, as federal agencies go, it is more political than useful or providing the service it was intended when created; like the infamous HUD.

People are dying from Ebola in this country because the federal government is not doing what it is paid to do and is inept and inefficient because it has grown far beyond the limitations prescribed by the US Constitution and its wise Founders.

The CDC is a scary place. I know, I was a security officer there until I decided to get out of that the security business. One evening, for example, there was panic over a hamster that escaped a lab. It turned out to be a control animal, which means it did not carry any disease. The lab officer was more concerned with having to report to her station than the concern of what might have happened if the animal did have contagious viruses and had escaped to the outside world. Security officers, including myself, ensured that the animal was contained in a small enough area to be caught by shutting down everything and not allowing any outside doors to be opened until the little hamster was caught.

The CDC has also been accused of scientific fraud. More than once has the CDC findings been questioned for its factual basis, the administration more concerned with political aspects of the bureaucracy. Not surprising for a government who thinks it can change the natural cycle of climate and weather by sucking up your tax dollars.

These problems do not just date back a few years, but recent scandalous, unethical, and fraudulent behavior and actions have been uncovered. A government that has grown too large for control and oversight is a dangerous government. Of course, in the eyes of government people that believe in their inherited powers over the people – it is the People who are dangerous and must be controlled.

In the end, 'Big Government' does everything but actually 'help' the people.
This executive administration has brought to the forefront that has been occurring since the assassination of JFK - a growing lack of confidence and trust in the central federal government.

Save the Republic - vote responsibly and demand that federal elected officials perform their job under the guidance of the US Constitution and its amendments. 

What next ... more zombie attacks? Is this some sort of after effect of an illegal drug? Toward the end of the following video, the media actually reports that the Pentagon has a "Zombie Plan"! 

It is either the tip of the iceberg of a serious virus/drug problem or just another way to waste tax dollars.
